ABOUT ME
My name is Lisa and I am a Professional Doula trained through Childbirtheducation.net and DONA. I was a Nanny for 5 years and knew my life goal is to help others. It was then when I learned the rewards of this field. I became a Doula to help women have a Positive Birth experience. I value Labor and understand that it is a time that a mother will never forget.
To make your birth experience positive, I help formulate a Birth Plan for the Medical Staff that discusses her plans and wishes. We go over medications, common procedures, as well as the role of the hospital staff/Midwife. I in no way come between the fathers/partners role. With a Doula, a father/partner can share in the birth at a level he feels most comfortable with. I also go over positions, work on breathing patterns, and discuss other ways to assist the mother in birth. I attend the actual birth and one to two hours after to help with breastfeeding. A week later, I will come for the final visit. I would then discuss the birth and help with any breastfeeding questions.
I work in Hospitals, Birthing Centers, and Home Births.
